Werewolf The Apocalypse Earthblood

📊 Review

I recently played Werewolf: The Apocalypse Earthblood, and here’s what I think about it. I was excited because I love werewolves and dark-themed games. The idea was great, but the overall experience was a mix of good and evil.

As I played, I earned experience points and unlocked new skills. There’s a small skill tree where I could:

  • Increase health
  • Unlock new combat abilities (like area roars or more substantial leaps)
  • Carry more bolts for the crossbow

The upgrade system was simple. It worked fine, but it wasn’t anything special or exciting.

Visually, the game feels old. Most of the levels, labs, factories, and bases appear to be the same. There’s not much variety. The werewolf animations are superb, especially during transformation and fights, but the environments feel lifeless.

On PC, the game ran smoothly. I didn’t face any bugs or crashes. The cutscenes looked okay, and the music during fights was quite good.

Story and Characters

You play as Cahal, and I was excited to play his story. He’s part of a werewolf tribe called the Garu, and they live in the forest, trying to protect nature. The enemy is this big evil company called Endron. They act like they care about the planet, but in reality, they’re destroying it, polluting the earth and doing shady experiments.

At the beginning, something big happens. Cahal gets super angry during a mission and accidentally kills one of his own. That part shocked me. After that, he disappears for five years. He feels guilty and doesn’t think he deserves to be with his people. But then he comes back because the tribe is in serious trouble, and he wants to help.

While playing, I met a few other characters, like Cahal’s daughter, who is also involved in the fight, and a couple of tribe leaders. However, the game doesn’t spend much time building its stories. I wish they gave us more. Most of the focus is on Cahal and his mission.

Characters

Here are the main characters I interacted with:

Cahal: The main character. A strong, emotional werewolf who struggles with anger.

Cahal’s Daughter: She plays a small but emotional role. I wish there were more focus on her.

Tribe Leaders: They guide Cahal, but they don’t stand out much.

Endron Soldiers and Robots: Enemies that you fight throughout the game.

Most characters felt flat. Cahal was okay, but others were not memorable.

Gameplay – Two Styles: Stealth and Combat

The gameplay is divided into stealth and combat.

In stealth, I controlled Cahal in human or wolf form. I snuck into enemy bases, hacked computers, turned off cameras, and tried to take down enemies quietly using a small crossbow. I could also turn into a wolf and crawl through vents to sneak past guards. It sounded cool, but it got boring fast. There’s not much freedom or choice in how you approach situations. The enemy AI is simplistic, and there are limited tools at our disposal.

Combat was more fun, especially when I turned into a giant werewolf. That’s when things got crazy. I could roar, leap, slash, and throw enemies around. Blood, sparks, and chaos filled the screen. At first, it was exciting, but even the fighting got repetitive. There’s no block button, just dodge and attack. The camera also gave me problems during intense fights, especially in small rooms.

Pros

✔ Turning into a giant beast and smashing enemies feels satisfying.

✔ Action is bloody, wild, and fun in short bursts.

✔ Easy to understand and upgrade health, moves, and crossbow capacity.

✔ The game runs well on PC with no major bugs or crashes.

✔ The background music adds energy during battles.

✔ The “World of Darkness” lore gives it a rich backstory for fans of the genre.

Cons

✖ Weak Stealth System

✖ Outdated Graphics
